Editlab, an Atlanta-based video production and post-production company, earned the top ranking out of 1891 entries in the 2010 Accolade competition for its Federal Aviation Administration training video Grounded. Grounded is a safety training film for pilots and other airline personnel about the importance of sleep and the effects of sleep deprivation.
“We are honored and excited to have been recognized for the creative approach we took with this film. It’s not often a training film has a car chase! The last thing we wanted to do was to put pilots to sleep while watching this training film about sleep deprivation.” says Michael Curtis, the owner of Editlab and director of the film. “Of all the awards we have won with Grounded, we are most proud of having the top score in the entire Accolade competition.”
The Accolade is an international competition that recognizes filmmakers who produce fresh, standout entertainment and compelling documentaries, and who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity.
