Our new Speedline printer with adaptive intelligence vision does a superb job of checking fiducials to ensure printing is performed at the right place with the right amount of solder paste is dispensed so that the end product exhibits perfect solder joint

NexLogic Technologies, Inc., a complete one-stop shop for PCB design, fabrication, and assembly, today announced the addition of a new Speedline Technologies MPM Momentum® stencil printer to its existing set of four stencil printers on its manufacturing floor. This latest installation represents the most advanced stencil printer technology currently available in the industry.

Zulki Khan, President and Founder, NexLogic Technologies, said, “Printing is the root cause of a number of manufacturing defects – voids, open solders, bridges, and others. Dealing with today’s highly advanced PCB technologies, you must provide OEM customers the assurances that the most advanced assembly systems are used on their projects to provide them with highly successful error free results. Our new Speedline printer with adaptive intelligence vision does a superb job of checking fiducials to ensure printing is performed at the right place with the right amount of solder paste is dispensed so that the end product exhibits perfect solder joints.”

Assembly engineering and technicians at NexLogic rely on experience, training, and new printing systems to virtually eliminate such defects. Guarding against manufacturing errors is especially true for today’s ever shrinking PCBs densely populated with increasingly smaller packaging such as microBGAs, CSPs, QFNs, and others with extremely tiny footprints.

NexLogic’s newly installed Speedline Momentum printer provides PCB assembly personnel with a precise printing process. The printer features print registration repeatability of +/- 12.5 micros at 6 sigma. This means stencil printing is accurately performed on remarkably small component pads with tightest tolerance, extreme reliability, and greater repeatability. Most current systems and competitive systems on the market are +/- 25 microns at 6 sigma or lower levels.

NexLogic’s customers are increasingly migrating to component packages such as 0201, 01005, microBGAs, LGAs, CSP, and others. OEMs on the forefront of technology with these advanced component packages depend on EMS providers and contract manufacturers to stay abreast of these advances by utilizing advanced stencil printers together with up-to-date pick and place and reflow processes. The Speedline Momentum printer precisely places those small components in a repeatable, quality controlled manner with extreme tolerance.

Aside from its advanced print registration repeatability, the Speedline Momentum printer provides NexLogic two other key features providing its customers several benefits.

  •     Edge-Loc Snuggling System
  •     2D coverage bridge detection and inspection performed in single pass.

The Edge-Loc Snuggling system permits NexLogic assembly personnel to effectively print to the edge of a board, thus saving customers fixture costs. Most printing systems don’t permit printing at the edges and require those costly fixtures. However, with the new Speedline Momentum printer, printing is performed on board edges to provide OEM customers even more board real estate and greater functionality.

Another great feature of Momentum printer is it gives you 2D 100% coverage of inspection area with error-free printing process and a capture of any deviations that are there. Speedline does that with their propriety vision system that comprises of high precision camera with extremely tight alignment capabilities, which allow the system to print perfectly.
