Last week marked the official launch of the 2nd Annual OLED Lighting Design Summit, Europe’s focal meeting point for development of OLED Lighting. The focus this year: Commercial applications to start driving revenue and profit from OLED Lighting. After a huge turnout at the inaugural OLED Lighting Design Summit 2010, there was no doubt that the lighting industry was ready to explore this exciting new technology.

There have now been hundreds of prototypes and short-run productions of OLED luminaires, but there’s one thing that’s just waiting to be realised: commercial applications.

On June 22-23 this year, over 200 director level lighting professionals are coming to London to meet and discuss the possibilities OLED Lighting represents with over 50 of the world’s leading product and lighting designers.

Already on the agenda are incredible and innovative ideas which will take OLED from an interesting proposition to a revenue generator for thousands of businesses around the world. There will also be unprecedented interactive design-led sessions enabling technologists and designers to finally interact on the same level, talking the same language.

The event’s already confirmed presentations from all the leading developers including OSRAM, UDC and the Holst Centre, luminaire manufacturers like Trilux and Acuity Brands alongside specifiers and designers from loads of major agencies and industries. Not only these, there are more coming on every day and with over 50 confirmed attendees already, the week after the launch date, this year’s event is sure to be a great success.
