With less than 500 days until the opening ceremony, Londoners can feel the games just around the corner. Lead vocalist Pete Walter felt it was the perfect time to release a song that captures the spirit of the Olympics.
“The song’s all about pushing yourself beyond your limits, and I had the Olympic motto ‘citius, altius, fortius’ [higher, faster, stronger] in mind when I was writing it. So with all the buzz about the games coming to my home town, I thought now was the perfect time to release the track”.
‘Holding On’ is the third single from the international coalition of musicians, who hail from as far as Brazil. Previous singles were showered with critical acclaim from the media. Their debut single ‘Troubling Me’, recorded in Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera’s studio, was chosen as single of the week by the London Metro:
“Life’s catching up with former TV producer Pete Walter and his international line-up of musicians. What to do? Write a catchy, upbeat pop/rock song about it, of course. File next to Ben Folds Five, Jamie Cullum.”
