Whirlwind Energy Announces Hiring of Management Firm

Whirlwind Energy has hired the Acterra Group to manage the development of their 48 MW wind farm.

Whirlwind Energy, LLC (WWE), a community wind energy company based in Atwater, Minnesota has selected the Acterra Group, Inc., of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a leading renewable energy project management and construction company, to manage the development of its wind project in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.

The WWE project will be a 48 megawatt (MW) wind farm comprised of up to 24 turbines, collection lines, a project substation, transmission interconnection, a permanent meteorological tower and associated roads.
“Whirlwind Energy is excited to take the next step by hiring Acterra to manage the development of this project,” said Stan Simon of Whirlwind Energy. “As we work toward a construction date we will continue to release information about the project. We feel it is important to keep the community informed about the economic benefits of this project. ”

Acterra is providing development, financing, and construction services for the wind energy project.
