“We have seen HCP interests in eSampling grow dramatically in the past year. In fact, the number of sample transactions has grown by 30% month over month since November of last year,” said Donato Tramuto, CEO and vice chairman of PIH.
Stamford, CT (PRWEB) March 30, 2011
Nearly 75,000 health care professionals (“HCPs”) have opted in to receive online samples while the number of requests has dramatically increased by 277% since January of 2010, according to Physicians Interactive Holdings, LLC (“PIH”).
As pharmaceutical companies’ budgets are cut and sales teams reduced in size across the country, brands are finding it more challenging than ever to reach their customers. Online sampling allows eligible HCPs to request samples via a web-based system, regardless of where they practice.
“We have seen HCP interests in eSampling grow dramatically in the past year. In fact, the number of sample transactions has grown by 30% month over month since November of last year,” said Donato Tramuto, CEO and vice chairman of Physicians Interactive Holdings, LLC. “We know from current research that at least 80% of physicians are interested in eSampling and now we are helping more customers find ways to integrate their valuable resources into the physicians’ workflow.”
As pharmaceutical companies are developing online sampling programs to help their decreasing sales forces, they are implementing more enterprise wide systems, according to a recent Wall Street Journal article. This has contributed to the rapid growth of brands in the PIH virtual closet as evidenced by a 400% increase in participating brands in early 2011 versus late 2009.
PIH reports the average user makes eight to ten sample requests per year per brand. Physicians can access samples from a number of online entry points as PIH has implemented more than 30 integrations among pharma portals, third party channels and sample fulfillment vendors.
