“CCNJ has been a leader in the New Jersey chemical industry for over 27 years,” says WRScompass CEO, Kathleen Shanahan. “As a 27 year environmental remediation contractor, WRScompass values the knowledge and leadership that CCNJ provides and is honored to be an event sponsor.”

WRScompass has been conducting environmental remediation and civil construction for the chemical industry in New Jersey for over 25 years. WRScompass recently consolidated two North East offices to a single larger office in Hamilton, NJ where over 150 employees are based.

WRScompass' experts specialize in remediation technologies and applications such as in-situ stabilization/deep soil mixing, ex-situ stabilization, slurry walls, and low temperature thermal desorption. Chemist Dr. Paul Lear, WRScompass Vice President of Technology Applications, was a pioneer in remedial applications carrying out the first applications of in-situ chemical and thermal treatments using auger mixers and the first full-scale implementation of stabilization treatment for dioxin.

In-situ stabilization is an approved remediation technique in over 46 states, offering an increasingly valuable approach for the treatment of contaminated sites that are potentially harmful to human health. New Jersey is currently evaluating in-situ stabilization as a viable application for remediation projects throughout the state.

2011 has been proclaimed by the United Nations as the International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011). IYC 2011 is a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind. WRScompass is pleased to join the Chemistry Council of New Jersey and other industry organizations in support of IYC 2011 and to have the 27th Annual Spring Conference recognized by the United Nations.

The Annual Spring Conference will take place on Monday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Seaview Resort. To register for the conference please go to http://www.chemistry2011.org/participate/activities/show?id=565.
