Pleasanton, CA (PRWEB) March 31, 2011 –
Zurado Systems announced that Datoray, its latest proximity-based information system, is now available through Android Market. Datoray enables mobile phone users to learn about other nearby Datoray users and to share information with them if they wish. Datoray enables people to communicate with others nearby about all kinds of things. For example, users may advertise their personal or business contact information, showcase their Facebook fan pages or their company web sites, or raise awareness of their favorite causes. Sometimes people don’t get the opportunity (or the nerve) to speak to everyone who is nearby. Opportunities to meet the ideal business partner or a new BFF can be lost forever. Datoray helps by enabling users to learn about each other, even when they do not get a chance to meet face-to-face.
Datoray users can be information consumers, information suppliers, or both, depending on their preferences. Apart from installing the Datoray mobile app, nothing special is required to be a consumer of content provided by other information suppliers. However, to be an information supplier, users need to register the devices on which the Datoray mobile app is running at datoray.com . As part of the typical registration process, which is free of charge, users provide their names, photos or images of some sort, and short descriptive paragraphs about themselves. Each information supplier also supplies a URL to relevant web content; e.g., a LinkedIn public profile, a Facebook fan page, a school or business web site, etc. There are administrative settings at datoray.com and on the Datoray mobile app that let users control when and where their content is visible.
Once launched and set to “search mode” the Datoray mobile app will sniff the vicinity for other Datoray users who are registered as information suppliers. The names, photos, and descriptive paragraphs associated with those discovered within a 32 foot radius are presented to the user in list form. When a person is selected from the list the user is taken to the URL (e.g., a fan page) registered by that person at datoray.com. Users can bookmark all search results for later viewing. This is a good way to capture information about who is in attendance at a business meeting or social function. This is also helpful for those who have trouble remembering names and faces.
Datoray is designed to be a simple, secure, reliable, and non-intrusive method of gathering and storing information about nearby people in various group settings. The effectiveness and enjoyment of business meetings, conferences, trade shows, and social events of all sorts could be enhanced by this technology.
Please see datoray.com for more details about Datoray.
