Recent study links emotional health and well-being to focused efforts on documenting positive events and “blessings.”

Have you counted your blessings today?

With so much crime, sickness, poverty and heartache in the world, we should all take a stand to focus on the positive things in our lives and in the world.

Author and Certified Life Coach Millicent Perry recently released her groundbreaking book ““Counting My Blessings: 111 Reasons Why I Am Thankful” via nationwide distribution on Amazon.com for self-helpers seeking to chronicle their “attitude of gratitude” journey. The book availability becomes more prevalent as a study released by the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology (JPSP) revealed the tenants of an improved emotional and interpersonal well-being and its direct connection to a conscious focus on “counting blessings”

The JPSP examined the effects of a grateful outlook on psychological and physical well-being through its analysis of “Counting Blessings Versus Burdens: An Experimental Investigation of Gratitude and Subjective Well-Being In Daily Life”

Perry takes an innovative approach to this study in writing, “Counting My Blessings: 111 Reasons Why I Am Thankful.” The book allows the reader to be the author by simply listing and elaborating on events in a person’s life they consider “a blessing.” The pages in the book are intentionally left blank so writers/readers may express their “blessings” as they see fit.

“With so much crime, sickness, poverty and heartache in the world, we should all take a stand to focus on the positive things in our lives and in the world,” said Perry.

“Counting My Blessings: 111 Reasons Why I Am Thankful” is now available on Amazon.com at a purchase price of $14.99. Discount and bulk rates are also available at http://www.blessingsamillion.com.

“The Blessing book started out as my own personal journey with me literally counting my blessings in a regular journal. I wrote down over 100 things I was thankful for and the experience was life changing and I wanted to share it with others,” Perry said.

Perry has also introduced “Counting My Blessings” to the public by way of hosting “Blessing Parties.” A Blessing Party gives people the opportunity to focus on gratitude and express it in the form of “Blestimonials”, which can also be cataloged in the book. Perry’s ultimate hope is in seeing one million blog comment “blessing” postings on her website.
