FuelQuest Inc., the leading on-demand software and services company for the global downstream energy industry, announced today a five-year contract with Palace Truck Stop and Casino. Under the agreement, FuelQuest Fuel Center, the company’s outsourced fuel management service, will source, replenish, and reconcile retail motor fuel for Palace’s growing location in New Orleans, Louisiana. Palace Truck Stop and Casino is a Roady’s Truck Stops member, an association of nearly 300 truck stop owners spread across the United States.
“We know that truck drivers and travelers have a choice in where they fuel their vehicles. Our goal is to keep fuel prices competitive and make the Palace Truck Stop a premier, must-stop destination,” said Lana Duke, president, Palace Truck Stop and Casino. “By leveraging its substantial fuel network, Fuel Center helps me compete with larger chains and pass savings along to our customers. This is critical for my business in an incredibly tough fuel market.”
“Given our high overhead and low margins, we must do everything we can to gain a competitive advantage. I am extremely excited to join this program as it gives us the purchasing power of the big boys. We can rely on FuelQuest’s expertise to shift loads and enable us to purchase the right quantities at the right time,” said Rob Horton, general manager of the Palace Truck Stop and Casino.
Fuel Center reduces fuel costs and ensures the security of fuel supply for customers. With its team of fuel experts and industry-leading Fuel Management System (FMS) software, Fuel Center procures fuel at the lowest possible price acting as a supplier-independent extension of the customer. “FuelQuest is excited to partner with Palace on its fuel management strategy,” said Ryan Mossman, vice president and general manager for Fuel Center. “With Fuel Center, truck stops and other fuel retailers optimize their fuel buying activities and restore margin to one of the largest contributors of store revenue.”
