During the past month, Aderans Research was recognized by hair restoration industry leaders around the world.

In February, Chief Executive Officer Ken Washenik, M.D., Ph.D., traveled to New Orleans, where he spoke about the future of the industry at the American Academy of Dermatology’s 69th annual meeting. He gave two presentations: “Emerging Therapies in the Treatment of Hair Loss” in a symposium entitled Alopecia: Workup and Treatment; and “Alopecia, Hair Loss and Scalp Disorders” in a symposium called New Emerging Therapies.

“We are taking big steps on the path toward hair restoration, and it’s great to be able to share our findings with respected leaders of the scientific community,” Washenik said.

Washenik also presented Aderans’ research and served as Scientific Coordinator at the prestigious Live Surgery Workshop in mid-March. He presented “Emerging Therapies for Hair Loss and Advances in Medical Therapy for Hair Loss” and moderated the session on Medical Therapy for Hair Loss. Sponsored by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, this 17th annual event took place in Orlando and included numerous hair transplant specialists in the field.

Most recently, Washenik attended the 2011 International Congress Against Hair Loss Research in Paris, a global congress of hair restoration expertise held in France. There, he addressed both medical and non-medical specialists, researchers and surgeons in a lecture about cellular treatments for hair regeneration.

“Our goal is to find a solution for pattern hair loss using cellular hair regeneration, and the more exchange we have with others in the industry, the closer we get,” said Vern Liebmann, Chief Operating Officer.

Aderans Research recently completed the first of seven protocols of a hair regeneration Phase 2 clinical study. More than half of study participants showed significant hair growth one year after the cell product treatment was administered. Ongoing trial protocols are evaluating additional variants from ARI’s Ji Gami™ family of follicular cell products.
