It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention. And if you are into spearfishing you have probably wished, at one time or another, that you had both hands free instead of dedicated to holding onto your speargun. Now there’s a solution to that dilemma, and it’s called SPEARGEAR. SPEARGEAR is a custom made speargun holster used for securing your speargun during water entries and exits and while not using the speargun during a dive. SPEARGEAR is not a holster in the conventional sense where the speargun slides into a leather or fabric glove. Rather, it is a cleverly designed system of adjustable nylon straps with side-release buckles and velcro fasteners that work together to provide a simple, lightweight harness which secures the speargun in such a way that it can be quickly and easily deployed.
There are three basic components to the SPEARGEAR holstering system: the Point-Holster, Gunstrap, and Bodystrap. The Point-Holster has a loop that fits over the weightbelt and adjusts to the length of the speargun, with a metal cylinder to secure the spearshaft. The Gunstrap attaches to the butt or pistol grip of the gun. The Bodystrap is worn over the wet-suit (or dry-suit) and under the BC. SPEARGEAR can be used for freediving or scuba.
SPEARGEAR is impressive in its quality of materials and workmanship, carrying a three-year warranty. Holsters come standard in black. Custom colors and configurations are available.
