Musician’s Friend and Partners Congratulate Tom Best, Will Dowling, Merrick Noyes, Colin Hatch & Michael Swenson with Thousands of Dollars in Prizes

Music gear retailer, Musician’s Friend, has announced the winners of its songwriting contest, Musician’s Friend Presents The John Lennon Songwriting Contest Video Challenge. The company and its contest partners, The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, The Lennon Bus, Sonicbids, AVID, Mackie, Audio-Technica, Epiphone, and Gibson applaud 3rd place winner, Michael Swenson of Largo, FL; 2nd place winner, Colin Hatch of Provo, UT; and Grand Prize Winners from the band Third Nature of Saratoga Springs, NY.

Winners were chosen by a panel of celebrities comprised of The Bacon Brothers (musical duo Michael and Kevin Bacon), Natasha Bedingfield (the United Kingdom’s favorite female pop star), Chris Barron (lead vocalist, Spin Doctors), Printz Board (Music Director, Black Eyed Peas), and Jill Sobule (American singer-songwriter)—whose awards were based on Presentation, Originality and Creativity, Melody, Vocal Ability and Music, Lyrics, and Entertainment.

*Grand Prize goes to the band Third Nature of Saratoga Springs, NY for their song “Lost For Now,” featuring Tom Best (Drums), Will Dowling (Bass), and Merrick Noyes (Keyboard). Third Nature’s Grand Prize includes a one-day video and audio recording session on the Lennon Bus, their music played on over 17,000 movie screens around the U.S. courtesy of Sonicbids, and over $7,500 in music gear from Gibson, Epiphone, Audio-Technica, Mackie & Avid.
