Licensed massage therapist specializing in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, & Hot Stone massages.

Blissful Zen opened the first of March 2011 and is the new office of Colleen Ryle, LMT, a licensed massage therapist who specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, and Hot Stone massage.

Ryle, who previously performed massage therapy in a salon for nearly a year, wanted to make herself more accessible to clients than the set hours of working for someone else would allow, including Sunday appointments as an option for customers.

"I wanted the opportunity for my clients to come when they needed me," said Ryle. "I make my own schedule now and it gives me the opportunity to spend more time with my clients, which is important to me. I'm very passionate about what I do. I'm passionate about every client that walks in the door and they get 125% from me, every time."
Ryle rates her deep tissue as her best work, but she maintains a diverse approach to massage that includes techniques to help resolve clients' TMJ and migraine issues, as well as occasionally harnessing hot stones as tools to help penetrate deeper muscles more quickly.

Completing her massage training at Kansas City's Massage Therapy Training Institute in 2009, Ryle has started utilizing some CranioSacral therapy techniques, which involves light touch - no more than five grams of pressure - to release restrictions in the CranioSacral system for improving central nervous system functions.

Blissful Zen offers a variety of massage options, including 60-, 90-, and120-minute Swedish or Deep Tissue table sessions for $40, $60, $80, respectively. Hot Stone massages are available in lengths between one to two hours with sessions ranging in price between $100 and $200. Blissful Zen also has a loyalty program in place to reward regular, repeat clients with massage discounts.

"I want to make massage affordable for everyone because it is such a great modality," said Ryle. "Massage is very therapeutic and, once you start to get it, your body actually realized that it wants it. I make it affordable for just about anybody to get massage work done for themselves."

Blissful Zen Bodywork & Massage is located at 208 W. Walnut, in suite 202, and is currently serving customers by appointment only. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 816-645-1861, or go online to http://www.blissfulzen.webs.com
