Standing Cloud, Inc. (http://www.standingcloud.com) announced today that its application layer solution is now available to customers of SoftLayer through the SoftLayer Technology Partners Marketplace (http://www.softlayer.com/marketplace), which launched today.
With a few clicks, users can easily deploy, manage and develop web applications with Standing Cloud’s application solution using SoftLayer’s on-demand cloud hosting platform. Standing Cloud’s service “brings the cloud down to earth” with easy application installation, continuous monitoring, and resource scaling, plus additional developer/DevOps features.
Standing Cloud joins a select group of partners in the launch of the SoftLayer Technology Partners Marketplace, a showcase for current SoftLayer Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Independent Software Vendor (ISV) customers’ products and technologies. The Marketplace is designed to connect these customers with the rest of SoftLayer’s community of over 26,000 customers. Other featured companies include AppFirst, Mollom and Migration Box.
“We’re excited to be able to offer our signature application management service directly to SoftLayer’s new and prospective customers,” said David J. Jilk, CEO of Standing Cloud. “The Partners Marketplace is the best way for us to help these customers easily integrate the cloud into their businesses without pain or hassle.”
SoftLayer customers will find it easy to set up and operate web applications on SoftLayer’s world class infrastructure, whether they are end users looking to use an application like SugarCRM or OpenVBX; consultants who customize applications like Drupal for their clients; or developers building a commercial web service in Java. Standing Cloud’s features and built-in best practices are designed to save time, improve reliability and security, and give access to all the flexibility that is needed and expected in the cloud.
“The SoftLayer customer community includes a vibrant group of startup and established software and technology-product companies,” said Paul Ford, vice president community development at SoftLayer. “We are thrilled to launch this new venue to promote those providers to the rest of our customer base, and to the world at large.”
Standing Cloud is the only platform-as-a-service (PaaS) on SoftLayer that enables cloud users to deploy, manage, customize and/or develop packaged or custom applications in a variety of languages. The service supports PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, and Python, as well as 75+ complete open source applications that can be deployed by end users with a few clicks. Target customers include business users who want an easy way to automatically deploy and manage SaaS; developers who customize existing open source applications or develop their own from scratch; and IT professionals in search of a time-saving way to deploy applications and development environments for teams within their organization.
