Elementary charter school to relocate to brand new classrooms

Pepe Fanjul Jr. extends his utmost congratulations to Glades Academy Elementary School on the completion of their new campus in Pahokee, Fla.

“For many years, I have witnessed Glades Academy’s board members, staff and volunteers work tirelessly to raise the funds to allow for the construction of the beautiful new school site in Pahokee,” said Pepe Fanjul Jr., Executive Vice President of Florida Crystals Corporation, who has operations in the community. “Our company is proud of the part we’ve been able to play in the donation of land and funds to facilitate the construction for these kids.”

Glades Academy is a Florida charter school founded by Emilia Fanjul, who also serves as chairwoman of the school’s board of directors, to give students and their parents in rural, western Palm Beach County a broader choice for elementary school education.

The school currently operates out of a church in Pahokee, which kindly donated the space. As the student body expanded, Glades Academy outgrew the current space and began fundraising for a new school campus.

Glades Academy is located in western Palm Beach County and fills a critical role as it incorporates specific programs to meet the needs of the community’s multi-cultural population, including English language development and bilingual classes. The school also incorporates modern computers and equipment to teach its students the skills needed to succeed in today’s technologically advanced world. Visit for further information.
