Strategic Decisions Group Elects Two New Partners in India and Asia-Pacific Practice

Aashish Mehra and Girish Shirodkar, senior members of Strategic Decisions Group’s India and Asia-Pacific Practice, were elected to the firm’s worldwide partnership. Both were instrumental in growing SDG’s presence throughout India since 2004.

Aashish and Girish are notable for their unflagging commitment to client service, where their work has resulted in vastly improved strategies and processes to allow clients to manage rapid growth.

Management consulting firm Strategic Decisions Group (SDG) today announced it has elected two new partners in its India and Asia-Pacific Practice. Joining the partnership are Aashish Mehra, who grew SDG’s life sciences alliance with IMS Health into a thriving partnership throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and Girish Shirodkar, who leads the firm’s worldwide Infrastructure Practice.

Aashish Mehra

Aashish Mehra advises top management of rapidly growing infrastructure companies and key decision makers in pharmaceuticals on their most pressing strategic issues. Mr. Mehra led SDG’s Life Sciences Practice in Asia Pacific for several years, where he played a key role in forging and leading SDG’s relationship with alliance partner IMS Health. He has advised innovator and generic pharmaceutical companies across most Asia Pacific and select European markets on strategic issues such as profitable growth, market access, acquisitions, divestures, licensing, due diligence, product valuation, corporate valuation, strategic planning, and entering new geographies, markets, or therapeutic areas. He has extensive experience coaching senior pharmaceutical executives on leading and managing change.

Mr. Mehra advises founders and promoters of rapidly growing Indian infrastructure companies, helping them successfully transition into billion-dollar enterprises. In an industry characterized by high uncertainty and long time horizons, he has helped clients develop strategies to meet their growth aspirations while establishing the internal competence to make key strategic decisions in the future. He has assisted clients in implementing processes for planning, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure execution excellence.

Mr. Mehra received his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management at Calcutta and a bachelor of technology in manufacturing sciences and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at New Delhi. He is a member of SDG’s Gurgaon office and resides in New Delhi.

Girish Shirodkar

Girish Shirodkar leads the Infrastructure and Resources Practices at SDG. He has broad consulting experience in various industries, including roads, airports, construction, power, urban infrastructure and mining. Mr. Shirodkar pioneered the novel concept of strategic partnerships with rapidly growing companies to help them capitalize on the expansion in India’s infrastructure sector while building the requisite internal processes and capabilities. He has since replicated the partnership model at other clients seeking to manage rapid growth.

Mr. Shirodkar has advised boards and top management on bidding strategies to win large infrastructure and energy projects. He has supported client organizations across India, the US, Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia. His client engagements include portfolio strategy and resource allocation, growth strategies, bidding and M&A, execution support, and organizational transformation.

Mr. Shirodkar has published articles in renowned international magazines and launched SDG’s internal practice development newsletter, the Strategy Quotient.

Mr. Shirodkar completed his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the VJTI, Mumbai. He heads SDG’s office in Mumbai.
