The T-Shirt contest was held in celebration of April—National Financial Literacy Month. “The self-confidence a child gains by building their own assets through saving is a powerful motivator. Harnessing that power to inspire other young people is what the contest is about, said School Savings President Cinnimin Avena.”

The contest required students to submit a T-shirt design on the entry form that included the words: "I'm Saving...." The design could illustrate 'How I'm Saving', 'Why I'm Saving', or 'What I'm Saving for'. Save For America and SCHOOLSAVINGS.COM sponsored the contest. The Winners’ schools were sponsored by Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, Edgartown, MA and Harris Bank, Summit, IL.
