Power for Kids Joins Juke Joint Festival

Power for Kids and Literacy Spokesperson Patricia Rust head South to Clarksdale, Mississippi's Juke Joint Festival to provide fun for the family as part of the five day Blue Festival featuring 100 artists that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Power for Kids will be part of the upcoming Juke Joint Festival celebrating the birth of “The Blues” this coming April 14 through 18 in historic Clarksdale, Mississippi. Patricia Rust will be playing a fairy princess and reading and signing her acclaimed book THE KING OF SKITTLEDEEDOO (available at Amazon.com) amidst monkeys riding dogs, pig races, film festival, and other fun planned for the children in this legendary town that is booked solid for the event.

Patricia Rust is an award-winning writer and author of THE KING OF SKITTLEDEEDOO. She is also Founder and Executive Director of Power for Kids, a 501c3 not for profit organization, devoted to promoting literacy in children. According to USA Today, she has read to hundreds of thousands of children across the United States and India. This is the first visit for Power for Kids (see http://www.powerforkids.com) to the festival. Rust is also a regular contributor to The Los Angeles Times Kids Reading Room since 1999 and her published stories and learning and reading exercises appear on the organization's not-for-profit website.
