Designed to address the increasing demand for 10G Ethernet test ports, Xena says the new 6-port 10GigE module is already proving popular with customers with sales in the US, Europe, Israel and Asia.
Frost & Sullivan’s recent analysis “World Gigabit Ethernet Test Equipment Market” reported a surge in test equipment sales, and that vendors were now under considerable pressure to reduce the price of 10 GbE test equipment.
“Test vendors are focused on building high-performance traffic generation and analysis products that demonstrate price and performance leadership,” concluded the analyst behind the report.
Jacob Nielsen confirmed that the new 6-port 10G module would reflect Xena Networks strategy of delivering 90% of the same L2-L3 test features as the market leaders but at around 50% of the price.
“This represents enormous value in an industry where gigabit Ethernet is now a commodity rather than IT service,” says Jacob Nielsen.
