Ridgefield, CT (PRWEB) April 11, 2011
The Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield Connecticut is pleased to announce this year's most exciting Celtic Concert - Órla Fallon!
About Órla Fallon:
"I have been privileged in the places that music has brought me," says Órla Fallon. Given the places she's been these past years, it would be difficult to disagree. His Holiness the Pope, US Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and Irish President Mary McAleese, have all been a part of Órla's audiences throughout these past six years, both as a solo artist and with the phenomenally successful group Celtic Woman.
Órla Fallon is a singer / harpist who comes from the village of Knockananna in Co.Wicklow, Ireland. Since leaving Celtic Woman at the end of 2008, Órla has been charting a solo path that launched this past December with her very own American Public Television holiday special - Órla Fallon's Celtic Christmas. Now Órla is back in 2011 with, yet another, Public Television special debuting this Spring. My Land - Starring Órla Fallon is an Irish music, geographical and cultural celebration featuring the legendary Dubliners, Tommy Fleming, Damien Dempsey and the Dublin Gospel Choir. Órla will be touring the United States and performing over 50 concerts in 2011.
A pre-concert event held in the lobby of the Ridgefield Playhouse at 7:00 PM will include:
Live music from Connecticut's favorite Celtic group - Celticity
Free Wine Tasting compliments of Fairgrounds Wine & Spirits
Gourmet Irish Food from the UK Gourmet
Gifts and products from O'Reilly's Irish Gifts
Celticity will be performing their favorite tradition Irish and Celtic songs in the lobby of the Ridgefield Playhouse at 7:00 PM (prior to the Orla Fallon concert at 8:00 PM). Celticity combines cutting-edge artistry, passion, and a contemporary touch to traditional Celtic music. With a unique blend of instrumental sizzle, vocal beauty, and captivating arrangements, Celticity puts forth an immensely exciting and highly musical performance. Celticity is Sylvie Harris on guitar; Megan Sweeney on flute and piccolo; and Phred Mileski, voice, psaltery, Bodhran drum, and accordion.
