Vale do Lobo (http://www.valedolobo.com) the luxury golf and beach development in Portugal’s Algarve, has launched an unprecedented marketing initiative featuring a selection of its villa owners to front a new advertising campaign in the run up to the resort’s 50th anniversary.
Three British owners - the Dellicompagni family from Staffordshire, Peter and Julia Wood from Lancashire, and the Dransfield family from Hessle in Yorkshire - took part in a glamorous fashion-style photo shoot at various locations within Vale do Lobo showcasing the resort’s exceptional scenery and desirable residences. Vale do Lobo hired a London-based fashion and lifestyle photographer to coordinate the shoot alongside a make-up team from Portuguese Vogue and a top Portuguese fashion stylist. The campaign is set to run across various UK national newspapers and glossy lifestyle magazine titles from April to November this year.
Founded in 1962, Vale do Lobo has grown to become the largest and best established luxury development in Portugal. Located 20 minutes from Faro International Airport, the resort is three times the size of Monaco and features two 18-hole championship golf courses, tennis academy with 14 courts, 2km sandy beach, spa and fitness centre, plus 15 restaurants and bars. Scattered throughout the resort are 1500 private villas and apartments, of which 60 per cent are owned by UK residents.
Peter Dellicompagni, chairman of the Staffordshire-based hairdressing company Francesco Group, and his wife Emma have owned a home at Vale do Lobo since 2001. They feature in the campaign with his son, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter. “We have travelled far and wide, but we always agree that there is nowhere better than Vale do Lobo for our family,” said Peter Dellicompagni. “For us it is not just a holiday resort, but an all-year-round community with lots of social events, so we always feel welcome and come back for more.”
Peter Wood and his wife Julia, from Rossendale in Lancashire, first became owners at Vale do Lobo in 2003 and have since bought and sold two further properties within the resort. “For a fantastic holiday, fabulous life style and family entertainment, Vale do Lobo just seems to fit in perfectly for every generation. Our family and friends love returning year after year and we always enjoy the relaxed feel that Vale Do Lobo has to offer,” said Peter Wood.
Paul Dransfield, managing director of PDR Construction, one of the largest independent construction companies in the north of England, and his wife Joanne were photographed for the campaign with their three children. The family are from Hessle in Yorkshire and have owned a home at Vale do Lobo since 2003. Paul Dransfield said: “More than just a home in the sun, Vale do Lobo plays a huge role in our lives and there is definitely an unbeatable formula to the resort, because we always look forward to our stays”
Diogo Gaspar Ferreira, chief executive officer, Vale do Lobo Algarve commented: “Vale do Lobo has a heritage like no other resort in Portugal with generations of owners buying property here and enjoying the unique lifestyle we offer. As part of the countdown to our 50th anniversary we decided to develop a special marketing campaign involving our property owners because what better ambassadors can there be for Vale do Lobo than people who already have a home here.”
Vale do Lobo also recently acquired planning permission to develop new plots of land available to buyers for construction of custom-designed villas overlooking the Royal Golf Course or the Atlantic Ocean. London-based real estate agent Landsdowne RE (http://www.landsdowne-re.co.uk, tel: 0207 268 2100) has been appointed as Vale do Lobo’s exclusive UK agent to market the new property opportunities. Bespoke residences start from £1,700,000.
