2011 Summer Camps at the Denver Fencing Center Offer Challenge, Camraderie, and Fun

The Denver Fencing Center ("DFC") has announced its 2011 Summer Camp schedule for its locations in Denver and Golden for kids 8-18. The camps will take place in June, July, and August 2011, covering all three of the sport's weapons: foil, epee and saber. In addition to its athletic camps, DFC also offers separate theatrical fencing programs. Beginners are welcome.

"Our camps are the perfect way to introduce a beginner to the sport or take your fencing up the the next level," commented Nathan Anderson, head coach. "Every year of the summer camp, we have taken one beginner fencer and turned them into a top 20 National ranked fencer or National medalist by the next summer.
We have been doing this for 7 years and have create over 1,000 successful fencers through our camps, and had a tremendous amount of fun."

The Denver Fencing Center has recently moved to a new, air conditioned 12,000 square foot facility at 1930 S. Navajo, which is the largest fencing center in the Rocky Mountain region. Camp fees include 5 days of instruction, Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm, and all equipment and protective gear rental.

Camp instructors are seasoned with extensive fencing experience, including, Nathan Anderson, former NCAA All-American and All-Ivy League (University of Pennsylvania), and John Kissingford, former captain of the Princeton fencing team. In addition, DFC theatrical fencing camps feature Paul "Von" Rentzell, a seasoned veteran fencer who has produced over 30 theatrical productions over the years and has extensive experience on the stage.

Camp fees are $325 per week; DFC Members: $300 (Family members receive additional 10% discount on the second camper) The cost includes all necessary fencing equipment rental. US Fencing Nationals Camp is a 3 day camp and cost $200.
