According to Barbara Daniel, Director of Information Technology for the City of Jacksonville, “Our goal is to add components to our site as we acquire the funding for community projects. We plan to add a module to accept online payments for various departments in the very near future, and our website will grow as our community’s needs grow.”

Award finalists offer an array of features and functionality that cause them to surpass websites in their class. The Juggle.com government awards editors hand-selected this year’s Top Local Government Award recipients by evaluating a variety of site features and functionality, including usability, timely content, access to e- government services and technological innovation.

“We offer the citizens an opportunity to sign up for e-news. They can add their email address to be notified of upcoming events. Our citizens also have the opportunity to fill out several forms such as requests for inspection, code complaints, animal issues, pot holes, parks issues, street light outage, sidewalk damage, etc. These forms are automatically routed to the appropriate personnel for action. We take the reports very seriously, and each is given prompt attention,” noted Daniel.
