After extensive interviews and re-interviews of all declared candidates for Whatcom County Sheriff, the Bellingham Police Guild, representing City of Bellingham police officers, has endorsed Sheriff Bill Elfo for re-election to Whatcom County Sheriff

Re-Elect Sheriff Bill Elfo

Thank you again for your time in meeting with the Bellingham Police Guild’s Political Action Committee. We would like to offer the Bellingham Police Guild’s endorsement for the upcoming 2011 Whatcom County Sheriff’s Race.

After extensive interviews and re-interviews of all declared candidates for Whatcom County Sheriff, the Bellingham Police Guild, representing City of Bellingham police officers, has endorsed Sheriff Bill Elfo for re-election to Whatcom County Sheriff, the Office Sheriff Elfo has held for the past eight years. In their endorsement letter the Bellingham Police Guild wrote:

"Dear Sheriff Elfo,

“Thank you again for your time in meeting with the Bellingham Police Guild’s Political Action Committee. We would like to offer the Bellingham Police Guild’s endorsement for the upcoming 2011 Whatcom County Sheriff’s Race.”

“We are very committed to the public safety of Bellingham and feel that a continued partnership with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is vital in providing the highest level of service to our community.

Sheriff Bill Elfo is humbled and excited about continuing the long established partnership with the Bellingham Police Officers and the Whatcom County Sheriffs Office. Our mutual mission to protect and keep safe all the citizens in Whatcom County is dependent on maintaining strong partnerships and working relationship with all law enforcement personnel from Federal, State and local departments and agencies throughout Whatcom County.

Responding to the Guild’s endorsement Sheriff Elfo said, “I am proud to have the Bellingham Police Officers Guild’s endorsement recognizing our currently successful working relationship and their confidence in me to continue our collaborative partnership into the future to keep all of our communities safe”

Current Partnerships between the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and the Bellingham Police Department includes but is not limited to the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force which focuses on drug and firearm trafficking, the Whatcom Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Response Team, Whatcom Unified Emergency Management, the police communications center and law enforcement canine operations.
