Deep Experience and Expertise, Tremendous Team Strength, and Trusted Hands-On Partnerships With Companies of All Sizes Characterize Firm's Client Relationships

Our team has proven themselves over and over again in public accounting firms, and in virtually every industry sector imaginable

The Horwitz Taylor Group today announced its formation as a new financial advisory firm for the C-Suite.

Horwitz Taylor founders Karla Horwitz and Meg Taylor - each a former Partner at Tatum - have spent 25 years helping senior management teams in diverse companies and industries address their financial and accounting needs and issues.

Deep Experience and Expertise

Horwitz's experience includes CFO roles at companies in transition, such as PopCap Games and Click Wine Group, as well as Manager/Partner of the advisory practices at Arthur Andersen and Tatum.

Taylor has served as controller for a manufacturing company, as director of advisory practices at Arthur Andersen, KPMG and Tatum, and in numerous financial executive roles on behalf of clients. She previously founded and managed Red Cedar Partners, a health care consulting firm.

Working Hands-On and Side-by-Side With Clients

Horwitz Taylor works hands-on and side-by-side with emerging, mid-market and large companies in transition. The firm builds solid, stable and trusted partnerships and helps organizations from the ground up as they:

  • Prepare to execute major transactions
  • Seek much-needed capitalization
  • Cope with wrenching market shifts
  • Restructure financial and accounting teams
  • Repair or rebuild broken processes, systems and tools
  • Seek to align revenues and costs

Ready to Help in Up Markets, Down Markets or Middling Markets

"The markets have improved," says Horwitz, "but if you're a CFO, or the member of a senior management team, financial headwinds persist today. Investors want increased shareholder value - fast. Boards expect tight governance and seamless internal controls - with no surprises. And CEO's demand prudent expansion and efficient cost-cutting - to sustain strong revenues and profits. We believe the markets will eventually improve. But in the meantime, our firm stands ready to help companies in any cycle - whether the economy is up, down, or just muddling through."

Deep and Wide Team Strength

Horwitz Taylor brings a host of experienced and expert accounting and financial professionals to the table - on an interim or temporary project basis. Indeed, the firm's professionals are former CFO/COO's, controllers, auditors, accounting managers and finance directors.

"Our team has proven themselves over and over again in public accounting firms, and in virtually every industry sector imaginable," explains Taylor. "And, time after time, we've sat with bankers, Board members and C-Level executives, offering the right strategic advice as well as the right operating guidance."

Adding Value Across the Board

There are 10 specific ways that Horwitz Taylor (HT) adds value:

Transaction Readiness - Is the strategy defined? HT can help with strategy and quickly assess an organization's readiness to undergo the rigor of due diligence. Will the company's reporting pass a risk-free quality of earnings report? When it comes to investment bankers, private equity groups, or a strategic buyer, can the organization anticipate what the needs of these groups will be to get the deal done? HT can - and will - support the company to make it happen. The best deals never close without the right due diligence, valuation analysis and overall number-crunching.

Merger or Acquisition Integration - The toughest part begins after the closing, because all the pieces and processes have to somehow fit together.

Capitalization - The liquidity markets are starting to open up, but accessing them still requires serious attention to financial detail as well as creative strategies. HT has experience preparing companies for all capital options, including - angels, venture capital firms, private equity firms, investment clubs, initial public offerings, and traditional debt financing.

Interim Financial Leadership - HT's CFO's and team of professionals - whether it's the VP of finance or controller function - come in, roll up their sleeves, and do the job.

Financial Analysis and Planning - Accurate budgets, forecasts, projections and business plans are the lifeblood of a company and key deliverables for HT.

Audit / Compliance Readiness - This is an absolute necessity, and HT helps make the process as painless as possible.

Process Improvement - Upgrading processes is key across the board, from order to cash; and that means everything, including accounts receivable and payable, revenue cycle, and the supply chain.

Troubled Accounting Department Recovery - Internal controls are essential to managing risk, and often the starting point is cleaning up reconciliations and documenting processes.

Technology Optimization - Making key information accessible through reporting process automation; understanding that information through efficient and timely data-flow analysis; and implementing, managing and supporting state-of-the-art financial and accounting software throughout the organization.

Start-Up Solutions - From company formation to that sought-after liquidity event, financial and accounting expertise helps pave the way. One thing to avoid on the road to success is a financing opportunity that's squandered because of back-office inefficiency.
