Rave Mobile Safety, a provider of software safety solutions and Smart911, is recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, which recognizes telecommunicators and their role serving as a vital link between citizens and public safety services. Rave Mobile Safety is honoring all members of public safety telecommunications – the engineers, technicians, IT support personnel, supervisors, managers, directors, vendors, designers, consultants, trainers, 9-1-1 coordinators, chiefs, county, state and federal officials—that citizens rely on every day.

Smart911 enables public safety telecommunicators to thrive in their role by providing them with vital, life saving citizen information. With Smart911, citizens enter personal information online, which is then automatically available to a 9-1-1 call taker. The additional data provided is far more extensive than what is typically available to a 9-1-1 telecommunicator, and can include information about health, disabilities, family members or pets, and a home address affiliated with a cell phone number. The information provided by Smart911, combined with skilled public safety telecommunicators, can dramatically improve emergency outcomes.

“The information provided through Smart911 allows me and our 9-1-1 center to have greater insight into an emergency situation, before we deploy a first responder to the scene,” said Lori Bentley, Emergency Telecommunications Trainer with the Nashville Emergency Communications Center. “While we have been trained to ask the right questions, often during an emergency it’s challenging to get an accurate response from a stressed caller. For public safety telecommunicators, having detailed health information and a caller’s accurate address can equal valuable minutes saved, which is vital in a life saving situation.”

“This week, Rave Mobile Safety is recognizing the individuals that make our communities safer and serve as the first line to help during an emergency,” said Tom Axbey, Chief Executive Officer, Rave Mobile Safety. “Each day these individuals put themselves in situations where their skills are relied upon, and their response is critical. National Public Safety Telecommunications Week is an important time of year, where we stop to recognize these efforts and how vital these individuals are to maintaining a safe community.”
