The Manwife Chronicles – As Pantless as I Want to Be became a number one seller in two Amazon Kindle humor categories, and number 822 overall on the Kindle best-seller list.
David Kaa, an unemployed marketing executive, wrote the book as spin-off from his blog. While being unemployed he started The Manwife Chronicles, a comedic blog based on being a stay-at-home-dad. Over time the blog slowly found its audience through social media.
As part of his growth of the site, David started throwing offbeat questions to his Twitter following under the moniker The Manwife. The responses he received were often funny and clever. The question became a regular feature of his Twitter postings called, “Question of the Day.” David took those answers from over the course of a year and compiled them into a book, complete with his own witty “answers.”
“One day I was just fooling around and threw out some stupid question. I think I asked people if they preferred soap or body wash,” said David. “First, I was shocked that anyone was even paying attention to what I was writing, but, moreover, there were some really great responses. It was at that point that I realized I was on to something.”
The Manwife Chronicles – As Pantless as I Want to Be is a light funny read that follows the drama of David as a stay-at-home dad. The book is a mix of rants about the corporate world which he was laid off, and musings of what he discovered with his children now that he spend majority of the time being the primary care giver. It highlights the role reversal many families are going through, as more and more women become the primary breadwinners. The Manwife Chronicles is a hilarious, honest look at one man’s unemployment in these tough economic times, and how with time, creativity and an Internet connection one man can make the most out of being jobless.

“Originally I followed the twitter account, then the blog, now the book, all with delight. With commentary about life as a stay-at-home dad, TheManwife takes a prominent feature of his called Question of the Day and stretches it out to an enjoyable light read. With questions like, ‘Why am I so awesome,’ and ‘Things you should not say while volunteering at your kid's school," the author gives us a hilarious glimpse into his life, his humour, and his tittering of twitterers that form his online social circle. A great, fun, quick read. As the kids online say, MOAR!”
