Studio K (http://www.studiokorlando.com), an entertainment studio in Central Florida, is proud to announce that owner and CEO, Kristin Weissman, has been nominated for the Orlando Business Journal’s 13th Annual Women Who Mean Business Award.

Weissman, 35, has nearly 15 years of experience in the fields of Public Relations, Marketing, Special Events and Business Management, and she has earned numerous awards for her achievements including: being named one of the Orlando Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Award in 2010, certificate recipient of Special Congressional Recognition, recipient of the Manchester Executive and Professional Women in Central Florida Award, and selected to serve as a member of Leadership Orlando, a community leadership program for business professionals.

Weissman departed from her corporate position to open Studio K in October 2010. Studio K is a one-of-a-kind entertainment studio featuring the largest offering of dance and dance fitness classes for adults in Central Florida, a team of leading industry photographers, and a national public relations agency, all within one complete state-of-the-art setting. Prior to this endeavor, Weissman has locally served as the Director of Public Relations for Full Sail University from 2005 to 2010, and also formerly served as the Director of Communications for Give Kids The World. Before relocating to Orlando in 2001, Weissman began her career in the casino industry working in marketing and public relations management for the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, Harrah’s Entertainment, and as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Miss America Organization in Atlantic City, NJ. In addition, Weissman is a published author writing the internationally recognized publication, Barbie: The Icon, The Image, The Ideal, and has also served as a contributing writer to the book, A+ Marketing, Proven Tactics for Success.

Beginning Studio K has been a long-term dream, and to bring it to fruition and be nominated for this award only six months after its inception, is a personal milestone that I will always treasure.”

The Women Who Mean Business Award will honor Central Florida’s top female executives and name the Business Owner, Business Executive, Up & Comer of the Year and the 2011 Businesswoman of the Year during an evening celebration that will take place on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando.
