Pete Dye Golf Club Rankings Continue to Rise

Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia, managed by Love Golf Management, continues to receive high rankings from prestigious golf magazines. In the May, 2011 edition of Golf Digest Magazine, Pete Dye Golf Club was ranked #45 out of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses,” and also ranked #10 out of 100 courses identified as “Best Modern Courses in 2011” in the March 11th, 2011 issue of Golfweek Magazine.

Love Golf Management is pleased to announce that Pete Dye Golf Club continues to enjoy high rankings in trusted golf publications. In the May edition of Golf Digest, Pete Dye Golf Club was ranked #45 out of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.” This ranking moves Pete Dye Golf Club 12 slots up the list from the last ranking by the magazine in 2009, and 54 places up from 2007’s rankings.

Located 95 miles south of Pittsburgh in Bridgeport, West Virginia, Pete Dye Golf Club also recently ranked #10 out of 100 courses identified as “Best Modern Courses in 2011” in the March 11th issue of Golfweek Magazine.

Designed by world-renowned golf course designer Pete Dye, this private championship course was built in 1994 on a coal mine strip. The property, which boasts magnificent views of the West Virginia landscape, maintained the coal mine theme which is evidenced by tee markers made from railroad ties, railroad cars that line a fairway, and players going through a 140 foot coal mine in order to get to the 7th hole tee box. When asked about the Pete Dye Golf Club course, Pete Dye himself said “It is eighteen of the most exciting and memorable holes that I have ever built on one course.”
