Also Called “Strongest for Standards and Application Portfolio Management” in Comprehensive Evaluation by Independent Research Firm

The research report states, “With the strongest current product offering, Troux is leading the EAMS category in terms of depth of functionality.

Troux Technologies, the leader in Business Technology Management and Enterprise Architecture software, today announced that the Troux 9 Suite ranked top for Current Offering in a comparative evaluation conducted by independent research firm, Forrester Research, Inc. Troux was also cited as a leader among a comprehensive set of vendors and products evaluated in The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Architecture Management Suites, Q2 2011. Since the evaluation, Troux has extended its capabilities with the new Troux 9.1 suite that shipped last month.

The Forrester Wave is based on an evaluation of 10 of the leading EAMS vendors across 89 criteria. In addition to garnering the top score for its Current Offering, Troux also rated strongest for Standards and Application Portfolio Management, is top rated for Publishing and Reporting, and also among the top rated in Change Management and Strategic Alliances.

The research report states, “With the strongest current product offering, Troux is leading the EAMS category in terms of depth of functionality. In addition, it offers methodologies and services to help their customers get the most from these capabilities. The company is also a thought leader that takes the approach that the right way to message and evangelize the market is by addressing direct EA issues such as standards, application decommissioning, and data center consolidation. These features are based on strong configuration management database (CMDB) and PPM interface.”

EAMS Importance in IT Management
The report also recognizes that the EA Management Suite could be the next center of the IT Management universe. Forrester specifically called out the following as evidence:

  •     “An EAMS supports a broader set of roles outside the EA group. EAMSes provide a support to numerous IT and business roles, such as CIO, the project management office (PMO), heads of development and operations, IT strategists, risk managers, IT procurement, among others.”
  •     “An EAMS centralizes the most-strategic information on IT and business. EAMS artifacts are expanding from data, process, and organizational models into budgets, strategies, risks, and other information categories.”
  •     “BSM and PPM failed to become the center of the IT management universe. Many PPM and BSM projects achieved only relative success – and some failed. This fact as well as the momentum around IT planning and road mapping are signs that the focus for the ‘industrialization of IT’ is reorienting toward EAMS.”

“Having Forrester evaluate customer feedback and rank Troux as the top EAMS current offering is extremely gratifying,” said David Hood, chief executive of Troux. “We are thrilled to see our leadership extend from the 2008 report, and be recognized as the strongest vendor for standards and application portfolio management. It is also important to see EAMS getting the recognition it deserves within the broader IT universe. It reinforces our belief that this category is a must have for Global 2000 companies today.”
