Rancho Cordova, CA (PRWEB) April 18, 2011
Pearson today announced the release of a new Advanced Reporting Toolkit, (ART), which will be available for use with Chancery SMS®. Chancery SMS provides student information management for some of the largest school districts in the United States. One of the first applications of ART will be to provide Chancery SMS customers with simpler methods to meet the requirements of state departments of education.
ART is loaded with an array of features that will significantly reduce the amount of time required to define and run student information system data extracts:
- Ability to run data extracts by district and by school
- Improved integration with Chancery SMS
- District-level management of the extracts process
- Improved flexibility via customization
- Extensible with third-party SQL systems
- Run reports from snapshot data (not live data)
- Ability to add stored procedures, functions and calculations
"For school districts with more than one hundred thousand students, extracting just a few bits of data from the database can be more complicated and time consuming than most people realize," said Paul Fletcher, president of the Schools Systems group of Pearson. "When you have a district the size of our largest customer, with over four hundred thousand students, performing the periodic data extracts required for state reporting can be a full-time job for several administrators. With ART, districts will now be able to comb through their databases and quickly pull data with minimal effort."
