Ecuador rafting company, Waterdog Tours, announced that it has opened its new office in El Chaco, Napo, Ecuador. The new office includes 10 newly built hotel rooms with private bathrooms and hot showers as well as a communal kitchen for travelers and guests. The new office is located in El Chaco’s central core in the La Revolucion neighborhood between Ierac street and Texaco street. As the original rafting and tourism operator in El Chaco, the move represents both the exciting growth of the company as well as the rafting and tourism potential of Ecuador’s Quijos Valley.

With the opening of the new office, Waterdog Tours is offering discounted whitewater rafting trips through the first half of 2011. The rafting company offers a variety of exciting options catering to adventurers of all abilities and ages – from Class II rapids to more challenging Class IV rapids.

Waterdog Tours specializes in rafting trips on the Quijos River, site of the 2005 world rafting championships, during which Ecuador served as host to teams representing more than 30 countries. The most popular trip, “El Canonero,” winds through cloudforest canyons and includes a stop at a riverside “trapiche” where cane alcohol and sugar is made in a traditional mill and still by a local rancher. Guests are given the opportunity to grind their very own cane juice and try the local aguardiente spirit that is distilled on the ranch.

Other whitewater rafting options include additional sections on the Quijos River as well as the Salado River. A class II section on the Salado River is a great rafting option for families that want to get a glimpse of the surrounding cloudforests but do not want to venture into larger more technical rapids.

The company is also proud to announce that it has expanded its offerings to include tours to area waterfalls as well as a local orchid garden and riverside hike to a cave housing the endemic and endangered “Tayos” or Oilbird. The waterfall tours include the famous Cascada San Rafael (the largest falls in Ecuador), the Malo River or Cascada Magica falls which tempt visitors to bathe in the mist created at its powerful base, and the Loco River falls which offer over 20 series of drops and slides for those really looking for adventure.

Waterdog Tours is located in the Quijos Valley in the Amazon province of Napo in the Oriente region of Ecuador. The area is home to an incredible diversity of cloudforest bird species as well as the best whitewater rafting in Ecuador. Waterdog Tours has been operating safe and quality rafting trips on the Quijos and Salado rivers of Ecuador since 2007.
