Organized by "I Clean America" and "The Way To Happiness" dozens of volunteers will be at MacArthur Park in recognition of Earth Day this Saturday, 23 April, to devote their efforts to an environmental clean-up at one of the most visited public parks in Los Angeles.

Dozens of volunteers from across Los Angeles will participate in a clean-up in celebration of Earth Day at Los Angeles’ recreational landmark MacArthur Park on 23 April 2011. Organized by “I Clean America” the clean up starts at 9:00am and goes until 1:00pm with volunteers and families attending from across the city of Los Angeles under the banner of “I Clean LA” with “The Way to Happiness.”

“I Clean America” (http://www.yolimpioamerica.org) is a non-profit organization with the goal of bringing about awareness on environmental issues as well as educating and encouraging communities to clean and take care of the environment. “I Clean America” was established by Ignacio Barsottelli who has been active across the United States and Latin America in cleaning up rivers, lakes and parks with the purpose of safeguarding and improving the environment. Mr. Barsottelli has received two awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA/USEPA) for his environmental work in recent years and is the coordinator of the MacArthur Park cleanup for Earth Day.

Free copies of “The Way to Happiness” booklet will be on hand to those at MacArthur Park interested in improving their local environment. The book contains 21 precepts including “Safeguard and Improve Your Environment” where its author L. Ron Hubbard stated: “Care of the planet begins in one’s own front yard. It extends through the area one travels to get to school or work. It covers such places as where one picnics or goes on vacation. The litter which messes up the terrain and water supply, the dead brush which invites fire, these are things one need not contribute to and which, in otherwise idle moments, one can do something about.” “…There are many things one can do to help take care of the planet. They begin with the idea that one should. They progress with suggesting to others they should.” “The Way to Happiness” has been translated into 94 languages and 79 million copies have been distributed in 138 countries.
