Having a cloud solution enables PSU to offer state of the art systems available from Microsoft without the time and effort needed to install and update programs
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 19, 2011
RoseASP, one of Southern California's largest providers of hosted Microsoft Dynamics solutions, today announced that online accounting software myGPcloud™, a Microsoft Dynamics enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution available on-demand in the cloud, will be used by Portland State University as part of their accounting department curriculum.
Portland State University, which trialed the application during the fall term, now has the ability to instruct students in the areas of Management Information Systems and Accounting using the latest application of Microsoft Dynamics GP with myGPcloud. Curriculum around data management and accounting transaction flow is taught with no installation or down-time for professors. Professors and students both are now able to concentrate on their course and the learning objectives for the class without the hassle of upgrading and maintaining ERP software on campus.
"Having a cloud solution enables PSU to offer state of the art systems available from Microsoft without the time and effort needed to install and update programs," said Kristi Yuthas, Associate Professor of Accounting, Portland State University. "The cloud offers students the ability to do their work wherever and whenever they like. This is a great benefit as our students are no longer tied to the computer lab or limited by lab hours. In addition, our online students no longer need to be on campus to fulfill class assignments."
"Teaching students on the latest products is so important as they enter a competitive workforce today," said Linda Rose, Chief Cloudster at myGPcloud and President of RoseASP. "Students are able to complete assignments on the latest products offered by Microsoft and Dynamics GP is such a ubiquitous product in the small and medium sized companies that students will be well prepared to begin their careers in accounting."
The myGPcloud service includes all of the rich accounting, business-intelligence and financial-management features of Microsoft Dynamics® GP, as well as automated on-line provisioning, training videos and guides, template setups and technical support. Users can trial the service for one month, without cost, which includes full ERP capabilities such as manufacturing, supply chain, professional services and not-for-profit modules. The myGPcloud application is available in two versions: Business Essentials (plus) and Advanced Management (plus), and is available in all English speaking countries.
