Wokai.org to "simultaneously" co-host ORIENTED Happy Hours in Seattle, San Francisco, and New York to promote overseas microfinancing opportunities in China

“The ORIENTED Happy Hours enable our members to meet face-to-face on a regular basis and establish connections worldwide,” said Founder Christine Hsu.

ORIENTED.COM, a global networking organization of international professionals interested in Asian business opportunities and partnerships, is pleased to announce a tri-city partnership with Wokai.org to help raise awareness about microfinancing opportunities in China. Wokai.org chapters in Seattle, San Francisco, and New York will be the official co-hosts of the ORIENTED Happy Hours in those cities. All of the events will take place on Thursday, April 28 from 7-9 pm and will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Seattle, the Wyndham Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco, and the Marcel Hotel at Gramercy in New York.

Wokai.org was established in 2007 to create opportunities for those living in poverty in rural China. Since then, thousands of people from all over the world have made contributions to support borrowers in Sichuan and Inner Mongolia, enabling them to not only lift themselves from poverty but also reversing the cycle of poverty around them. "We could not imagine a better partner than ORIENTED – an organization that brings together young, business savvy, international Chinese from all parts of the world," said Courtney McColgan, co-founder of Wokai. "We look forward to working together to help raise awareness and microfinancing support for entrepreneurs in rural China.”

ORIENTED members are bilingual, mid-career, Western-trained professionals. Their language skills and cultural sensitivities are key factors in bridging the gap between the East and the West, and collectively they impact the development of the overall region as they advance in their careers. “The ORIENTED Happy Hours enable our members to meet face-to-face on a regular basis and establish connections worldwide,” said Founder Christine Hsu. “If we can use our platform to help international organizations like Wokai to forward their objectives, we are happy to do so.”
