Instead of tossing used electric shopping carts into landfills, we thought taking them apart, refurbishing the useable parts and selling them to service providers at a fraction of the cost would be better for the environment.

Amigo Mobility International, Inc. (AMI) announces its newest division, Parts for Carts, as an industry-unique source for rebuilt motorized equipment parts through offering refurbished accessories, components and parts for electric shopping carts, electric floor sweepers and electric cart movers/retrievers.
The idea of buying used electric shopping carts and refurbishing the parts first came to light in 2009, by Al Thieme, Amigo Mobility founder and president. “Instead of tossing used electric shopping carts into landfills, we thought taking them apart, refurbishing the useable parts and selling them to service providers at a fraction of the cost would be better for the environment.”
Committed to integrity in every aspect of the business, a strong sense of environmental responsibility is instilled as a corporate value. CEO Beth Thieme reinforces this responsibility, “From recycling to reusing to reducing – awareness and action are important throughout our business as we work to fulfill and sustain our environmental commitment."
As the general manager of Parts for Carts, Vernon Curtis employs four associates who test equipment, fill orders and track inventory. When approached about the concept of Parts for Carts, Curtis reacted enthusiastically to the innovative idea. “I immediately thought this was an exciting opportunity. Not only would we be practicing environmental awareness, but we’d also be providing needed assistance to help businesses grow in the slumping economy.”
Total Mobility Services, Inc., of San Antonio, TX, has used Parts for Carts since fall 2010. “When we need parts fast they always deliver! The staff is so knowledgeable about all the parts they carry, too,” states Pete Green, owner.
Customers save up to 50% off wholesale pricing on name brand parts such as batteries, tires, chargers, seats, brakes, controllers, motors and more. Each part is quality tested before being shipped and holds a 90-day warranty. Parts for Carts also purchases used equipment.
