..it is the impact that our Tier 4 Eco Data Centre will have on our own business and the local environment in the coming years that is the most important thing.
(PRWeb UK) April 26, 2011
Bedford based Data Centre Services provider Blue Chip have just received their second business award nomination of the year for the Eco Data Centre Project which came to fruition in early 2011 and promises to rejuvenate a large area of the Bedfordshire countryside.
The awards recognise excellence in environmentally minded green business practice and products. Being shortlisted represents being responsible for the most forward thinking and effective initiatives by UK businesses looking to achieve environmental sustainability whilst delivering sound business practice.
The Business Green Leaders Awards, which are sponsored by The Chartered Institute of IT, sees Blue Chip shortlisted amongst some very recognisable competition including Tesco and British Sky Broadcasting, and is recognition of the organisation as part of the driving force of excellence in green practice.
Taking place at Grosvenor House in London on November 11 2011, the award ceremony will be a gala affair. Blue Chip’s Managing Director Brian Meredith was keen to point out that it is what the awards represent, rather than the ceremony itself being the most important aspect of the company's nomination saying “The nomination is a tremendous honour and a great achievement in its own right. It recognises the hard work that everyone at Blue Chip has put in but it is the impact that our Tier 4 Eco Data Centre will have on our own business and the local environment in the coming years that is the most important thing”.
Competition to reach the shortlist has been fierce with many companies looking to make it to the awards as acknowledgement for commitment, innovation, action, continuity and replicability in the field of Green IT and business practice but those numbers have been reduced to the final 8. Whether Blue Chip will win in the face of very impressive competition, reaching this stage in the proceedings serves as fitting reward for a business practice that will see a huge area of derelict land in Bedfordshire transformed into a haven of greenery.
The winners of the Business Green Leaders Awards will be announced on November 11 2011 in London, and while there can only be one winner in each category, it is worth recognising the efforts made by all of the nominees, including Blue Chip, in establishing their businesses as conscientious, forward thinking, and green practitioners in the face of what have been uncertain economic times.
