...you have to have faith that everything happens for a reason, even if we don’t know it at the time, or ever know it.
Townsend, DE (PRWEB) April 27, 2011
Deidrea Haysel, a mother of two residing in Delaware, pitched her company Hot Mama Gowns to the "Sharks" on ABC's hit show "Shark Tank". Deidrea's segment aired last Friday, April 22nd, to the highest ratings ABC has seen in over a year for its time slot for adults 18-49! She was looking for an investment from the sharks as well as their business savvy to take her company to the next level.
Deidrea was seeking $30,000 in exchange for a 20% stake in her company. She pitched with passion while demonstrating the functionality of Hot Mama Gowns; utilizing her two on-set models, one wearing the generic hospital gown the other wearing a Hot Mama Gown.
Barbara Corcoran was interested and offered Deidrea the $30,000 she was asking for but in exchange for 40% of the company. Barbara also placed a couple conditions on the funds; one being to mainstream the sizing to Small, Medium, Large.
Deidrea turned down Barbara's offer. It was the combination of deviating from what Deidrea feels is an integral part of Hot Mama Gowns, fitting EVERY size woman, not just a portion of women, in addition to giving away such a large piece of her company for just $30,000. It was hard to turn down the cash and expertise Barbara brought to the relationship, but it also wasn't on Deidrea's terms. She said thank you, but no thank you.
Hot Mama Gowns are 100% organic cotton hospital maternity gowns. Designed to fit Mom before, during, AND after birth; Hot Mama Gowns allow Mom to look beautiful and feel comfortable. They are specifically designed to help facilitate the breastfeeding relationship with two ribbon-tied breastfeeding panels which allow Mom to feed her baby easily, quickly, and discreetly. Once Mom is home, she can wear her Hot Mama Gown for months to come as nursing pajamas; again looking great and feeling comfortable in a truly functional garment!
