“Let’s quit talking and do something about it."

In President Obama’s address to the nation, he states that the turmoil in the Middle East is affecting all Americans at the gas pumps. He affirmed that it is now time to secure America’s energy future and that the best probabilities for relief for every American’s bottom-line, is to augment America’s own security by finding solutions “in our own backyards”. According to the president, when it comes to resources, one cannot beat American ingenuity.
The president however, did not provide any more tangible solutions such as tax incentives for domestic drilling.
Kevin A. Boyles, CEO of the California-based oil and gas company, Team Resources identified that the statement by the President covers a variety of areas; basically he’s discussing the cause and effect of our country’s dependence on Middle East and foreign crude oil which results in war, economic and personal impact to which no one is immune. This has been a topic of politicians for decades and here we are today with no real viable solutions implemented – when in fact solutions for being less dependent on foreign oil does currently exist. I say, “Let’s quit talking and do something about it”. Boyles definitely agrees that America needs to be more self-sufficient in generating our own “US PRODUCED” energy. Our government should encourage US oil and gas companies to develop US natural gas reserves and give the end user of natural gas tax credits for cost incurred associated with this plan. It would have a huge snowball effect not only on reducing our dependence of foreign oil, it would also help clean environment and also jump start the US economy with millions of new jobs. These new jobs would further generate federal and state taxes which could be used to reduce our 12 trillion dollar deficit.
Boyles continues, “We have already found an abundant resource which could 'come to market' very quickly without the need to build major infrastructures and could slash our demand of foreign oil significantly in just a few years. This resource is natural gas. It is estimated that the US has enough natural gas to last a century or more! In addition to natural gas, the US has some of the world’s largest coal reserves. I also believe that wind and solar could be effective in certain regions; however this energy resource technology would need much more time to evolve.”
