New York, NY (PRWEB) April 29, 2011
The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton was viewed by people all over the world the morning of April 29, 2011. The couple has taken a very down to earth approach to their life together and in lieu of presents they have requested those wishing to give gifts instead donate to charities important to them. One of those charities is UK based, Beat Bullying, http://www.beatbullying.org.
It was reported that Kate Middleton may have been slightly bullied while attending Downe House, a private school for teenage girls. The head mistress has stated that there are “cliques” and some girls can be rather cruel. The Beat Bullying charity wants to change the attitudes and the end goal is to make bullying history throughout the world.
We’ve all seen the tragic headlines; bullying victims across the world are suffering. Once thought of as an unpleasant rite of passage, bullying is finally being recognized as a dangerous and pervasive threat to children. Shockingly, as many as 40 percent of children report that they’ve experienced episodes of bullying at school or online through their school community. A Yale University study has definitively linked it with suicide.
Dr. Edward F. Dragan, author and national education expert has been working for many years trying to bring an end to this sad phenomenon which has taken the lives of many children and teens.
In THE BULLY ACTION GUIDE: How to Help Your Child and Get Your School to Listen, Dr. Edward Dragan argues that schools are self-protective entities, reluctant to address bullying themselves. Parents, Dragan says, have power that they might not realize they have – they just need to wield it effectively.
“By bringing this charity to the forefront William and Catherine will help thousands of kids who are bullying victims. I was personally touched by their actions as I am an advocate of kids who are bullied. I send William and Catherine my heartfelt wishes for a happy marriage and many thanks for the kids," stated Dragan.
In the BULLY ACTION GUIDE, Dragan empowers parents with scripts for the difficult conversations and knowledge to be their child’s most powerful advocate. It’s time for everyone to join together and put an end to bullying!
