Software Business Development Veteran John W. Rutherford Joins the Calpont Team to Lead Growth of InfiniDB with Strategic OEMs and ISVs for Online Analytics

There is a particular interest across the cloud and online analytics market where companies need platforms that can scale as processing requirements and rapid data access demands grow.

Calpont Corporation, a leading provider of high-performance analytic databases today announced that John W. Rutherford has joined the company as vice president of business development. Mr. Rutherford brings two decades of software business development experience to Calpont and will be responsible for growing Calpont’s OEM business and cultivating relationships with ISV and strategic providers of online analytics that can benefit from InfiniDB’s columnar architecture for rapid and easy access to highly dimensional online data.

Mr. Rutherford brings deep knowledge and strong relationships to his role at Calpont. Most recently, he was part of the executive team at Puppet Labs where he was responsible for developing relationships and corporate partnerships with cloud infrastructure providers. Prior to Puppet Labs, he was vice president of business development at MySQL where he created product integration and OEM channel distribution model with key technology companies Oracle, HP, Sybase and Sun. He has been involved with license development and strategic OEM relationships at technology innovators and industry leaders that include Oracle, IONA Technologies, Borland and Informix.
