Now in its third year as the Smiles Change Lives (SCL) Official Orthodontic Industry Sponsor, 3M has renewed its support of this national nonprofit organization, putting a smile on the face of both orthodontists and children nationwide.
“3M supports Smiles Change Lives because of the strong commitment we have to its mission of helping kids who couldn’t otherwise afford orthodontic treatment,” states Bill Cruise, President of 3M Unitek.
3M supports SCL initiatives ranging from marketing efforts and special events, to orthodontist recruitment and product donations. This third year of sponsorship marks exponential growth for SCL, due in part to the dedication of this industry leader that helps SCL make a significant impact nationwide.
“We’re overwhelmed by the generosity we’ve seen from 3M,” shares Dr. Jess Kane, SCL National Board member from Boston, MA. “From their marketing support of our programs, to their sales staff support of each individual SCL orthodontist, 3M continues to stand out as a top-notch company with a great commitment to helping kids find their true smile. I’m honored to treat SCL kids and know 3M stands behind me,” adds Dr. Kane.
SCL launched its national expansion in 2010, connecting caring orthodontists with children in need in all 50 states. Beginning 2011, the charity has more than 380 orthodontic providers in nearly every state. The organization hopes to serve more than 700 new children this year and is seeking referrals from oral health professionals.
“With Smiles Change Lives, everyone involved wins – but most importantly, it is the kids in the program that prevail,” states Mr. Cruise. “With so many selfless orthodontists who donate their time and expertise to help these kids, our allegiance and pledge to helping others achieve the smile of their dreams remains unshakable.”
