SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS (MLB Team of the Year) – The 2010 Giants were bigger than one player, bigger than one season. They are the 2010 MLB Team of the Year because they represent sport at its best. They surprised the baseball world by playing an excellent team game on both sides of the plate and brought an entire city to its feet with an improbable World Series victory.
JIM SCHLOSSNAGLE (Texas Christian University) – Schlossnagle led third-ranked TCU (51-12) to its fourth straight 40-win season and fifth consecutive Mountain West regular-season title on the way to Omaha. TCU also won the MWC tournament title to earn the league's automatic bid for the fourth time in five seasons.
DAN O’BRIEN, (University of California San Diego) – UC San Diego’s baseball team ended its best season in history May 29 with an appearance in the College World Series championship game in Cary, N.C. The Tritons took runner-up to the University of Southern Indiana.
TEXAS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY HORNED FROGS – The Frogs swept through the NCAA Fort Worth Regional with victories over Lamar, Arizona and Baylor. TCU won a hard-fought three-game series against the No. 2 national seed Texas Longhorns in Austin to earn its first-ever trip to the College World Series. In Omaha, the Frogs battled to a 3-2 record, falling just a win short of making the NCAA championship series. The Frogs defeated Florida State twice and UCLA once.
