Say Hey to Kiki!

HeyKiki is great way for us to advertise our classes to people looking for new ways to stay in shape and have fun. We’ve been really excited about the beta launch of HeyKiki and are expecting it to drive a lot of new business in 2011.

Looking to overcome apathy and actually make good on your New Year’s resolutions? Now there's a new social platform designed to get you off the couch and do the things you love or have always wanted to try. It's called HeyKiki.com and with its official beta launch in the New York metro area, the site will connect users with trusted local instructors and practice partners in their neighborhood for a wide variety of activities, ranging from sports and fitness to languages, music and a myriad of creative and performing arts.

"Until now, people looking to learn new activities, find practice partners or participate in their favorite hobbies have had to search through endless Google results, scour Craigslist’s classifieds or page through a phonebook to find and connect with local activity instructors or enthusiasts - all without any insight into their background or credentials," says Joe Vadakkekara, HeyKiki Co-founder. "This hit-or-miss approach has been the norm for years, but HeyKiki is attempting to change that."

Through a centralized platform, HeyKiki uses crowd-sourcing to bring together local instructors and students from diverse backgrounds to learn and teach any activity of interest, while also allowing like-minded users to connect with practice buddies in their neighborhood. HeyKiki allows users to customize searches based on activities, student ratings and reviews. Meanwhile, teachers can post classes on the HeyKiki directory free of charge and make themselves easily accessible to a targeted audience of students. Further, HeyKiki features these instructors on its social media channels to broaden their exposure.

“As we begin a new year with new goals, it’s the perfect time for HeyKiki to launch,” said Vadakkekara. "You can ask anyone on the spot what they’ve always wanted to learn or an activity they miss doing and they’ll have an answer; boxing, jazz, language, acting… there’s something they’ve always wanted to master. Heykiki helps you re-discover, practice and learn that ‘something’ all while reinventing yourself."

Tim Haft, an innovative personal trainer and founder of Punk Rope, has used HeyKiki to expand his brand of alternative fitness to users looking to get in shape in 2011. “HeyKiki is great way for us to advertise our classes to people looking for new ways to stay in shape and have fun. We’ve been really excited about the beta launch of HeyKiki and are expecting it to drive a lot of new business in 2011.”

The Internet has long been a place to learn and share knowledge, but with the arrival of HeyKiki finding, learning and sharing that knowledge just got a lot easier.
