“I was delighted to be contacted to assist in this challenge and was privileged to work alongside talented local counsel in David Lujan and Ike Aguigui,” said Doron Weinberg.
San Francisco, Calif. (Vocus/PRWEB) January 05, 2011
Doron Weinberg, a highly regarded white collar criminal defense lawyer in San Francisco, recently joined as co-counsel to the trial team representing Carl Gutierrez and Frank Aguon, Jr. in their challenge of the 2010 gubernatorial election results in Guam.
The Democratic campaign team of former Gov. Carl Gutierrez and Sen. Frank Aguon Jr. argued the results of the election should have been undone because Guam Election Commission board members allegedly were serving invalid terms when they certified the results that showed Eddie Calvo and Ray Tenorio as the winners of the election (Gutierrez and Aguon v. Guam Election Commission, et al., Supreme Court of Guam, Case No. WRM10-003.)
When news surfaced last week that Weinberg would be joining the Gutierrez-Aguon trial team, local media reports buzzed about the involvement of a “high-profile” California attorney with experience in high-profile cases.
Weinberg’s San Francisco-based law firm, The Law Offices of Doron Weinberg, is renowned for its skilled representation of individuals in a wide range of criminal law matters. The firm is also experienced with handling public or political corruption cases.
“I was delighted to be contacted to assist in this challenge and was privileged to work alongside talented local counsel in David Lujan and Ike Aguigui,” said Weinberg, who was recently named as the “San Francisco Best Lawyers Criminal Defense: Non-White-Collar Lawyer of the Year” for 2011. Weinberg was also named by California Lawyer Magazine as one of The Lawyers That Other Lawyers Would Hire if They Got Busted.
Earlier this week, the Guam Supreme Court ruled against the Gutierrez-Aguon team in its challenge of the election certification.
Since its founding in 1976, The Law Offices of Doron Weinberg has provided thousands of individuals with effective legal representation in a wide range of criminal law matters in both state and federal courts.
