San Diego, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) January 12, 2011
With a cocktail in hand, it’s time to lift your spirits at Andaz San Diego’s “Happier Hour.” At prime-time, guests can enjoy $5 top-shelf cocktail specials, half-priced wines and appetizers every Monday through Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
“To shake things up a bit, we’ve completely enlivened some of our menu items at the Andaz Happier Hour while keeping the fantastic specials we know our guests love,” said Marketing Manager Rachael Giannecchini. “The Happier Hour gives San Diegans an opportunity to break away from work a little early with the perfect escape to meet with friends for a night of fun in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter.”
The new bar menu, created by newly appointed Chef de Cuisine Michael Liotta, is served in both the Gaslamp Quarter hotel’s Quarter Kitchen Bar and Ivy Wine Bar. The menu ranges in price from $8-16, highlights a BBQ Pulled Pork "Po-Boy" Sandwich with Slow-Braised Pulled Pork, BBQ Sauce and Creamy Cole Slaw and Ahi and Crab Tartare with Sushi Grade Ahi Tuna, Alaskan King Crab, Avocado, Yuzi Aioli, Cucumber and Preserved Lemon.
Top shelf liquor, select wines and specialty cocktails can also be enjoyed at special prices during the downtown San Diego hotel’s “Happier Hour” in the Quarter Kitchen Bar, Ivy Rooftop and Ivy Wine Bar. Cocktails mixed with premium spirits such as Grey Goose, Bacardi, Corzo Tequila, Cazadores and Dewar’s are only $5, while many popular wines are half-priced. Specialty cocktails featuring freshly squeezed juices are $5 during “Happier Hour” and regularly priced at $15. The specialty cocktail menu includes cocktails like The Hook Up, The Glance and The Tease, all craft-libations specially-made by in-house mixologists.
If cocktails don’t suit the mood, guests can also find a little relaxation with the new Five-for-Five tasting special Monday through Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Ivy Wine Bar, which offers five select wines for only $5 directly from its high-tech Wine Stations. For guests that want to try more than five tastes, the wine bar also offers 88 wines by the glass every day.
“The benefit of our Wine Stations is that 88 wines by the glass are at our guests’ fingertips where they can taste unfamiliar wines without having to commit to purchasing an entire bottle,” continued Giannecchini.
And if guests do find a new favorite label, bottles from the Quarter Kitchen wine list, many of which are featured in the Ivy Wine Bar, can be purchased at a 30 percent discount. The Ivy Wine Bar is open Sunday to Wednesday from 5 p.m. to midnight and Thursday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
