It’s an honor to be recognized as a ‘Leader Under 40’ and to feel like the products you’ve helped to develop are making a difference to others.

Rugid Computer congratulates Brady Melchior on being chosen as one of Control Engineering Magazine’s “Leaders Under 40” for 2011. “Leaders Under 40” is a recognition program designed to identify and give recognition to young engineers who have made significant contributions toward the control engineering profession.

Since joining Rugid Computer in 2006, Brady has made many contributions to Rugid Computer including leading a small team of engineers through the product development cycle of Rugid’s newest product, WiSI. WiSI is a wireless sensor interface; an all-in-one radio, IP-67 rated outdoor/weather-proof data acquisition and control device designed for rapid deployment. The feature model WiSI also includes an integrated solar panel and super capacitor energy storage which provides the functionality that previously required an RTU, radio, battery, enclosure, antenna, solar panel, and solar regulator. Not only does WiSI make life simple for integrators who use it, but its innovation was also recognized by Design News Magazine by the awarding of a Golden Mousetrap Award for 2011.

“I am very proud to have had such a major role in the development of a product that is receiving recognition for its ground-breaking innovation within the industry.” Commented Brady, “It’s an honor to be recognized as a ‘Leader Under 40’ and to feel like the products you’ve helped to develop are making a difference to others.”

Brady is featured in the October issue of Control Engineering Magazine that is currently available online and in print. Other winners include individuals from Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Procter & Gamble and other companies and educational institutions.
