The C-Radio Show is getting ready for a big radio show happening October 18 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. C-Radio Show host, Cynthia Nevels, will interview Rene Syler who will share a candid look at her life after CBS News' The Early Show and her bilateral mastectomy. She humorously explains how she reinvented herself and created a whole new brand out of necessity.
Rene Syler is a spokesperson for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest grassroots breast cancer organization in the world and works to spread the word about breast cancer and early detection. Both her mother and father had breast cancer and on her final day on the CBS News' The Early Show she announced she was about to undergo a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy, which was successful.
In the wake of Steve Jobs death, following his battle with cancer, Syler shares, "Steve Jobs and his innovative ideas have left an indelible mark on Good Enough Mother; heck, I’m building a brand using Apple products."
In 2007, Syler published her first book, Good Enough Mother, the Perfectly Imperfect Book Of Parenting (Simon&Schuster) and its companion website, http://www.goodenoughmother.com. Syler is currently busy building the Good Enough Mother brand, speaking to groups and conferences across America and making media appearances to promote her parenting and life philosophy.
Syler shares why she felt reinventing herself after her mastectomy was important, why she became an entrepreneur, how she did it and what lessons she learned.
