Mobile Video Surveillance Solutions Widely Used in Transit, Law Enforcement and School Bus Applications

Apollo Video Technology’s (Apollo Video) mobile digital video surveillance systems are now available for purchase to government agencies through the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedules Program. Apollo Video made the announcement from the American Public Transport Association 2011 EXPO in New Orleans, La.

GSA establishes long-term government wide contracts with commercial firms to provide access to millions of commercial supplies, products and services. Allowing government buyers to save time by making purchases through a pre-approved group of suppliers, GSA schedules are a preferred purchasing method. Apollo Video was added to the GSA schedule after an extensive approval process and positive evaluation of previously completed contracts.

"Apollo Video’s availability on the GSA schedule provides a mutually beneficial opportunity and streamlines the purchasing process for our government customers – an opportunity that results in significant cost and time savings,” said Rodell Notbohm, general manager of Apollo Video Technology. “Being awarded this opportunity through an assessment of the company’s previous projects is an honor. We strive to be the best in customer service and look forward to providing the RoadRunner system to new government agencies.”

The RoadRunner system is designed specifically for use in all types of mass transit, rail, and other vehicles. Recording up to 16 cameras simultaneously with industry-leading recording rates, higher resolutions and compression ideal for networking and remote access, the RoadRunner system is the highest performance system on the market today. The RoadRunner system provides months of on-board storage, years of maintenance-free operation and provides system-wide remote updates. Coupled with Apollo Video’s ViM software, the system is designed to mitigate the risk of video loss, reduce maintenance and operating costs and increase accessibility of video surveillance and fleet data.
